Season’s 52 Oakbrook

Katie and I had the most amazing evening last Friday.  We were lucky enough to attend a pre-opening event at the new Season’s 52 in Oakbrook, IL.  I had a great meal at a Season’s 52 restaurant in Florida a year ago and loved everything about the restaurant, so I was especially excited to visit the newest Season’s 52.  We enjoyed one amazing course after another, each paired with an equally amazing wine.

The food is delicious, fresh, and the menu focuses on local foods in season and here’s the real surprise, it’s healthy!!  What an amazing concept.  Food really can taste great without loads of heavy cream and butter.  It is my new favorite restaurant.  They have a great selection of wines by the glass and by the bottle.  Each item on the menu is less than 475 calories and some are significantly less than that.  I’m not usually inclined to finish a restaurant meal with a dessert, there are often so many more calories in restaurant food than food I prepare at home and I hate to top that off with more calories but in this case, the desserts are called Mini indulgences and they are not only delicious but also perfectly sized, finally a dessert that is not loaded with guilt. The menu changes with the seasons, four times per year and has enough choices to please all.

The new Oakbrook Center restaurant is nearly 10,000 square feet and will seat about 300 diners.  It offers private dining rooms, a piano bar with live nightly entertainment as well as a chefs table adjacent to the open kitchen.  It’s a beautifully appointed restaurant, give it a try, I’m sure you will enjoy it and if you happen to enjoy a bit of shopping with your meal, the adjacent mall won’t disappoint either.
