Blackberry Avocado Salad

Everything is better with avocado! I bought blackberries that were delicious and had a few avocados that were ready to be consumed and thought why not toss them together for a salad. What a nice flavor combination. It was definitely better than expected. I tossed the two together with some baby romaine lettuce and a bit of lemon and olive oil and it could not have been more delicious. It was such an amazing combination. From now on I will always think blackberries and avocados belong together in a salad. Next I think I’ll try blueberries with avocado, I’m just going to work my way through my favorite fruits, I’ll keep you posted!  What’s really nice about this salad is what you see is what you get; no added artificial flavors or  ingredients, it’s all the real thing and what great taste you get with real food.  I think you’ll like this.
1 head of baby romaine lettuce or about ½ head of full size romaine, chopped
1 cup blackberries
1 avocado, peeled, pit removed and cut into bite size pieces
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Add chopped romaine lettuce to salad bowl; add blackberries and avocado to lettuce. Mix lemon juice and olive oil in small bowl, toss into salad bowl and mix until lettuce, blackberries and avocado are lightly coated with dressing. Add salt and pepper to taste.

I love your blog site! I feel like I’m in the same room with you talking food and I love that. The blackberry/avocado salad is wonderful! Just had to tell you. Makes me wonder why I never thought to put those two together before. I’m glad you did though. Miss you all….xo peri
