It’s summertime and a great time for a nice cool treat. Kids can assemble their own fruit pops with their favorite fruits. This recipe makes six 4 ounce popsicle. If you don’t have popsicle molds you can use 6 oz paper cups instead and use wooden popsicle sticks, sometimes called craft sticks. Start with a bowl of mixed fruit and gently drop fruit into popsicle mold piece by piece until it is filled. Once the mold is filled, pour yogurt/juice mixture into the mold until it is filled, then add popsicle sticks to mold. Place in freezer and allow to freeze fully before enjoying.
For those of you paying attention, Katie posted a recipe yesterday that used cherries as the main ingredient. Why? We are both entering a contest for cherry based recipes that kids can make sponsored by Whole Foods…and we like cherries. Here is mine. I hope your kids like it.
6 ounces vanilla yogurt
½ cup unsweetened 100%cherry juice
½ cup pitted and halved cherries
½ cup blueberries
½ cup raspberries
In small mixing bowl, combine yogurt and juice until smooth. Add fruit and yogurt to popsicle mold as described above
These look delicious. I have yet to attempt popsicles. How fun!
