How is your day going? Almost the weekend!! I’m more than ready for the weekend to be here. Today was super gloomy and because traffic was so bad I missed my doctor’s appt even though I left work early. Grrrr. Traffic is starting to be the bane of my existence. I did go shopping after I missed my appt though which helped cheer me right up, as it always does. I went to J. Crew and they had a ton of fun spring stuff.
Isn’t this dress cute? Ignore the post workout face/hair. Probably not the best time to try clothes on but it’s on my way home from the gym!
My mom is going to New York this weekend and then down to Florida for all of next week, so you are going to be seeing more of me for awhile. Never a bad thing, right? Right. She will be posting once in awhile but we probably won’t be sticking to our every other day schedule since she isn’t sure about internet, etc. yet.
My parents have a time share which they bought for one dollar on ebay. Must be a pretty nice place huh? I wouldn’t know since I’ve never been invited. My grandpa, who lives in Palm Beach ended up having open heart surgery last week and is recovering now, so even though my parents already had their trip planned, it coincidentally turned out to be the perfect time for them to go down and visit.
So, onto yogurt talk. My mom and I (separately) received coupons to try Stonyfield’s new Oikos Greek Superfruits yogurt. You have probably tried (or at least heard of) Oikos 0% greek yogurt. They have a ton of flavors, and my favorite has always been honey. So, when we got the chance to try the new superfruits yogurt I was really excited. My mom and I both agreed that the flavor was really good.
The yogurt has just the right amount of sweetness. I hate when yogurt tastes overly sugary and this one doesn’t at all. The actual flavor is Pomegranate, Raspberry Acai. I love pomegranate, and could taste a lot of it in the yogurt, but I like the addition of the raspberry and acai to balance out the tartness. The stats are pretty good- 130 calories for one container, 16 g of sugar and 13g protein, 18 g carbs. 16g of sugar isn’t super low, but it is low enough for a flavored yogurt–I usually try to stick below 20 g. All the ingredients are organic and a lot of the flavoring comes from the actual fruit puree, which I like. You might notice that a lot of other yogurt (especially non greek) have a wayyyy higher carb count than this one, because they flavor using artificial flavoring which adds carbs. Using the fruit puree and pure sugar kept the carb count down. Overall I thought it was really good, really creamy and something I would eat on a normal basis and my mom agreed that she would choose this over other flavors for the taste as well.
The one downside that both my mom and I agreed upon is that we both had a really hard time finding it in stores. I know this will get better since it is a new product, the guy I talked to at the grocery store said that it is a pretty new release so all stores should be carrying it soon (within the next few weeks even!). I finally found it at Whole Foods fyi.

1. Watch this cute video from Stonyfield that talks about eating organic and leave a comment letting us know what you think! I think the video is great because it is a fun and lighthearted way to describe why eating organic is so important. Even though I had always known it was better to buy organic, I think I really am just starting to see the real difference that buying organic foods, grass-fed meat, etc can make. What do you guys think about the video, and do you usually try to buy organic too?
2. Follow us on twitter
3. Follow us on facebook
4. Link back to the giveaway on your own blog
You can enter more than once by doing more than one of the above, just leave a separate comment for each thing (so if you follow us on facebook and want to comment on the video, leave two separate comments). OK? We will pick a winner on Monday evening. Good luck!!
Sidenote: I have been HORRIBLE at getting on fb and twitter and updating frequently but I promise promise I’m going to get better at it as of right now. I say I because that part is all me so I can’t even blame my mom for half of that. I realized I didn’t even like our facebook page until 2 minutes ago. Shh, don’t tell!
I’ll leave you with some pretty flowers from my office building.
